Set Goals For Yourself

Setting goals is a way to challenge yourself to do your best.
Reaching your goals feels great!   This is because your goals reflect the things you care about.  When you set goals, think about your values (what is important to you).

Short-term goals help you stay on track.
They may include doing well on a test or quiz, spending more time with a special friend or relative, getting homework done on time, or joining a school club or sport.

Long-term goals give you something to work toward.
You may need to reach several short-term goals first.  For example, if one of your long-term goals is to make the honor roll, you'll need to set some short-term goals, such as studying more than you did last term.

Be realistic when you set goals.
Set goals that are challenging but make sure you can reach them.  Don't set goals that are too easy, either.  Ask your teachers, parents, or counselor for help if you need.
