We had another successful Science Olympiad Day! Our students rotated through many S.T.E.M. based activities and got a chance to listen and participate in a guest speaker presentation about astronauts and space!
A special thank you goes out to the organizers and staff committee that helped to make it a wonderful day for our students.

**MORE ON THIS STORY**
Heritage Elementary School held their sixth annual Science Olympiad on Friday, March 17. Based on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, theme that the school has adopted, students rotated through different classrooms throughout the day to do STEM activities in each individual classroom.
Additionally, all students watched a presenter on space exploration, fifth and sixth grade students had a pentathlon, and third and fourth grade students did a space exploration activity. Topics covered included: motion, electricity, environment, space, engineering, weather, computer coding, and several others. All activities were tied to grade level standards for each class.
Heritage began the event six years ago in lieu of a science fair when they became a STEM school. The event allows all students an equal opportunity to experience a variety of STEM activities. Parents also participate in the day’s events and are encouraged to sign up as volunteers in order to share the experience with their children.
