Summer Reading

HES Sweet Summer Reading

Dear Parents,
I am excited to tell you about our Summer Reading Bingo (Grades 3-4) Challenge List (Grades 5-6)!

Summer is a time to read for pleasure! It is not all about reading levels or skills. Students have worked hard all year, and it is time for finding some new favorites or revisiting those books we love and want to savor again. The goal for either of these activities is for your child to possibly try new types of books and have a little fun with reading!

1. The books chosen should be appropriate for that student’s likes and interests.
2. Students may choose to complete any or all of the activities listed.
3. As your child finishes an activity in a box or on the list, please initial it to confirm they have successfully completed it. Also, help them fill out titles or other information as a way of remembering the details to share when we are back together.
4. Complete the information at the bottom of their page and return it to Mrs. Fentress in the library
at open house.

I look forward to hearing about all the fantastic books you will read and the fun you will have over the break! Please come to Open House ready to tell me all about it. Bring a picture (can be drawn or taken with a camera) to share of a favorite book or activity. I want a spectacular display to let everyone know what you enjoyed the most about your Sweet Summer Reading!

Enjoy reading some Spectacular Books! Mrs. Fentress
